As retirement parties go-I would say this one was for the books. Students, faculty, friends and family all here to celebrate a life devoted to art, photography and education. The universe smiles. The Dude abides.
I am a native New Yorker( Buffalo..I know)I moved to Phoenix directly after the blizzard of 1977. Phoenix is where I have honed my skills as an artist and educator. I have three children that are all grown up (at least most of the time). Currently,I am program director at Art Intersection. An art educator for over 30 years,my areas of specialization are historical photographic processes, mixed media and artists' books.
I have been collaborating with my husband, James Hajicek,on several projects. Our work can be seen on www.alchemy-studio.net.
I am slowing phasing into retirement, spending more time with family ( especially with the newest member of our family, Quinn) and in the studio.
It's a good life.
I wish I could have been there.
